Hey everybody!
Recently I directed / scored / sound designed a film called "The Reach", which participated in the "Uneton 48" - film competition, where you have to write, shoot and finish a film in 48 hours by the specifications given. It was nominated for best cinematography and best sound design / music. Take a look at it on Youtube! It's in Finnish language, but with English subtitles. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nalabn32zD8 You can listen to the score in Michael Law Music ("Loppuun palaneet" is the film's name in Finnish): http://www.michaellawmusic.com/#/music/ Tell me what you think! Cheers! |

Hey that's really nice! I loved the use of colour and the image postprocessing, it went together well with the percussion and strings to convey the sense of heat. Their acting seemed spot-on too (at least to me, an american who only knows 4 insulting words of Finnish :-)), and I dig the story. (though I didn't quite understand what's the deal with the never-seen 3rd guy from upstairs.. don't wanna spoil)
Anyways, awesome job - I didn't even know you directed!

Thank you, Will!
That was my third official short film I've directed (practice or test films don't count). It was good practice due to the 48-hour deadline from script to a finished film. I'm glad you liked it! The score was composed, recorded and mixed in three hours, so that was kinda weird and fun too! |
